Well, at 3:00 this afternoon the knock on my door finally came and the FedEx lady delivered my newest batch of corys. Wait until you see these C.aeneus sp. blacks and Hi Fin C. paleatus corys. They are wonderful! And as a special surprise, the seller included a pair of plecos as a gift.

Here's an advance peek at them:

The black ones are a color variation of the bronze corys. They are especially hard to find and even though they are still small, I'm incredibly happy - astonished really - to have them!

The Hi Fin peppered corys are lovely too, and they are the same as the one I received when I bought the Peru green corys last week. Well, I couldn't very well let her stay by herself now, could I?

I am just getting ready to move them into the tank I set up for them and will post more pictures as soon as I can take them. :D

Hi SirMinion :)

When I started this thread I had no idea what kind of plecos they were, but I just got an email from Buergey2, that told me they are Dwarf Bristlenose Plecos. Here's a picture of the light colored one:

I haven't been able to get a picture of the dark one yet, he is hiding behind the box filter and I don't have the heart to disturb him. After traveling half way across the country, I think he deserves to rest a bit. :D

BTW, Buergey2 is the same seller on AquaBid who sold me the beautiful green corys that I posted about last week.

OK, here is a picture of the black corys. It's not very clear, but it does show that they are definitely the blacks with the brown fins:

If you want to see their family, check out this auction that has just started today:

They have settled in nicely and are active and, it seems, hungry.

they are gorgeous!!! they look great against the light sand!

i hopped right on aquabid to buy some, but the $150 sticker knocked me back to reality. i need some more cories, but i will have to be a little more frugal. DOH!!!

Hi newfishies :)

I know exactly how you feel! And that's just the starting price too! :hyper: They are quite rare and the fact that this group has already spawned adds value to them as well. That's why I am so happy that I was able to get the small ones. I could never afford to even bid once on this group! :X

I wonder what the winning bid will be?

BTW, in the picture it doesn't look like they have eyes, but that's because their coloration is so dark and velvety it's hard to see them even in real life. I'll try to get more pictures tomorrow. :D

Hi Polardbear :)

Yes, I think they would look great together!

Here's a picture from a different angle. I think it might better show off the length of the fish as they are now.

These fish are still small, but are healthy and eating well, so I expect they will grow up strong and beautiful. :D

Looks like one of our newest members, reticulata, has found them and already posted a bid on that wonderful black spawning group. This will be an auction to watch, for sure! :D
