Hey, got a 60L Biorb yesterday, and had it running for a day now.

I've been reading about the airstone, and i was wondering if it comes fitted as standard?

I didnt have to fit one, but didnt check to see if there was one in there, and my stream of bubbles doesnt look incredibly bubble like.

So just wondered if anyone knows if it comes fitted.

Can provide pics of the stream if needed,

Thanks in advance.

If it's a brand new boxed up Biorb, it should come fitted with an airstone already. If you have a 'stream' of bubbles you will more than likely have an airstone fitted. If the bubbles are big individual bubbles then you may not. Untwist the filtration unit, lift it up and look to see if you can see a white airstone under that. It should be where the bubbles are coming from :D

Any probs pm me and I'll see if I can help :D

I bought my daughter on quite a few years ago for her bedroom to house her two goldfish Ant & Dec. With regular waterchanges they are thriving. I would also advise you to buy one of the plant accessories which neatly fit over the uplift tube to disguise it. To you question...Yeah should come fitted, If not check the box incase there is one in there and you've failed to spot it. or it may be dislogged or broken in the tank. Its connected to the filter unit. MFG recommends you change these every few months.

To change the air stone remove the filter cartridge as if you were doing a filter change. You should now be able to see a small white cylinder about 20mm high where the bubbles come out; gently pull up on it to remove the air stone and replace with a new one. Be careful not to push down too hard on the stone as it may become damaged.

To be honest they are not the best airstones on the market but they do the job. so regular replacement seems the order of the day
