So i bought a new male and female plakat betta 4 days ago (no worries, they are both alone in their tank, the male in a 10 gal and the female in a 5 gal) both are very active, swimming around (a bit too much i think, tho these are my first bettas i bought who were in their own decent clean tank at the store instead of those cups,so i might just not be used to it),no signs of sickness or such, but neither have eaten anything since i bought them. I feed them those betta pellets and they wont bother eat it. The female has eaten a piece or two but the male hasnt at all,my guess is cause i bought them from a breeder who fed them live bloodworms as a regular diet, now my problem is how do i let them switch their diet? Im scared that they might starve to death. I have thought of feeding them live bloodworms just so they would continue with their regular diet, however there is no store that sells live, frozen or freeze dried bloodworms in our area, all just pellets and flakes. The nearest store that has live bloodworms is from that same breeder i bought them from which is around a 2 hour drive away from me.Any suggestions guys?

Just keep offering them the pellets for now, they will eventually eat them when they get hungry enough, I think they might just be holding out for bloodworms. I had the same problem with a female betta I bought from a breeder, she eventually got used to her new diet of pellets and the occasional freeze dried bloodworm.

i wouldn't worry too much he's just hopeing for bloodworms  my first male came from a store so was used to pellets and flakes but refused to eat for 2 weeks when i got him

I had to move my Beta into his own tank as the loaches were fin nipping him in the
Community tank.
I feed him on "King British Tropical Fish mini pellets" which he seems to have taken a
real liking to, 4 to 6 pellets a day.
I alternate this with flake, and frozen bloodworm etc - but his staple diet are the pellets
and he chomps them up happily.
In the Community tank he had to eat what the others had - but now gets his own feeding programme.
