New Betta - How Does This Sound?

DP Fishways? Bloody Daz... there he goes wasting our drool again.
You chose well... what a stunner, good thing he wasn't on Aquabid, I've blown more than enough on Aquabid this year. Flawless finnage and great colour... real little beauty. :good:

Have you got any betta pellets? I use Hikari Bio Gold, a lot of people use Atisons' Betta Pro. Both very expensive. But both very good. Most bettas in my experience will not accept flake. Quite a lot won't take peas either... it's good to keep trying though, they are good for them.

I haven't got the betta food yet, plan to over the weekend leading up to getting him (or order off Ebay) or at a push get some next weekend as have bloodworm for a welcome treat to his new home :)

p.s. Thank you! I really think he is stunning!

Get Hikari betta Bio Gold, it is like £1.60 a pack in Pets @ Home, and this lasts for ages as the betta only eats about 5 pellets a day. Also I feed mine 'Sayuri' pellets that I buy from Ebay, they are from Thailand and the fish really like them. Again, they are cheap - maybe about £2 a pack and £1 postage? You get absolutely loads in these packs :)

Thanks for that! Will try to get at Pets at Home or if unable to get lift will order some!

Worryingly phoned local fish shop (small) and he went whats a betta?.... so said siamese fighter, than asked they stock food for him. Yes fresh or frozen. Turns out he feeds them soley on blood worm and tubifex worm! Surely that is not good?

No it isn't good. that's the sort of food you would only feed once or twice a week really - unless you were conditioning the fish for breeding.

Ah thought so! Have ordered some Betta Bio gold and will await :) Are two feeds a day, once in the morning and once when get home from work ok?

OMG My next betta is going to be reall nice like that!!! Its sooo beautiful!! I love the color! How much?

One day to go until the beauty arrives, have decided a name but will keep it a secret to see if it suits him :)

Weeee!!! :hyper:

newfishowner - certainly is a good price considering normal blue and red ones locally are £4. Problem now is a have a spare tank and a 30% voucher for another one...ohhhhh... promised myself to set up the guppy tank next and if was going to get another betta it would be a rescue one. :)

thats a very sexy betta!! cant wait to see some more pics of that beaut!
