New Betta.. Hm Dt?

Hey,

I've had flu or something and been feeling really minging for the last week or so.. So thought i'd treat myself to some new fishies! I stopped off at my LFS on the way back from uni and picked up a female killifish.. and ANOTHER betta!

He looked the most active and pretty so from the really good choice they had i decided on this one.. I named him Noodles! I was listening to Offspring on the way home and it seemed like a good name.. Really.. Maybe its the drugs...

Anyway, here he is! I think he's a HM DT but im terrible at tail types

Gosh hes even prettier than he looked at work! His colouring is stunning!

Glad you like him, i noticed him and another of the DTs when they came in and had to remind myself that i DONT want bettas anymore!

Ooooh, he is absolutely gorgeous! I love the coloring, and the tail tpye is very interesting too. I also am not that good at fancy tails tpyes (I can do the basics like CT, HM, VT etc) so I'm not much help with that. He is lovely though. Cute name too!

Im sure i'll be in again soon Ben - Will probably be wanting help with the reef tank.. Its just all too confusing for me The bettas colouring was quite pale when i first put him in the tank, but within half an hour he was looking really good, he must like my tank They need to sort their betta display tanks out though! You can barely see the ones at the back!!

Tell me about it, but theres not much i can really do. It could be worse, but i try to make sure they order just enough to fill the front 2 rows. I will probably try and fix some of it up and give it a good clean at some point.. Some of the bettas have got double "rooms" because the dividers have broken

Would more light help? Any feedback is appreciated. Oh and dont hesitate to ask for a stool..

Ben - A light would be a very good idea! I think the problem is that the tanks at the back are so dark that you cant really see the colours so well! Its the middle row that worst though as you have to look through the front tanks to see them, so maybe a light, and just putting the bettas in the front a back tanks? I dont know... But its a lot better set up that any other shops around here so i dont think its too much of a problem! Have you been to Churchdown recently? They put them in with anything!! Most have shredded fins, i have to stop myself from buying them out of sympathy

Anyway, he made it through the night and ate a nice breakfast of bloodworms, and he really does like to eat! He looks very happy at the moment. He's in a bowl at the moment which isn't ideal. I would divide my 4 gallon and put him in there but the one thats in there at the minute im not too sure about. He's not looking too great. I think its just old age or something but dont want to risk putting the new one in and him getting sick, so the bowl may have to do, for the moment at least!

And yes, he came from a SHOP! The one Ben works at, which i have had a few very nice bettas from! And thanks for the discount Ben..

And i know what you mean Elise.. I have a REALLY slow dial up connection, but for some reason it opens pics that i've posted myself with no problems, its just everyone else's that takes ages, weird

Anyway, i managed to get a couple of pics without the flash, so here's his 'real' colour

Gosh he really does look quite different without flash, closer to the colour I remember him being. Either way he is very pretty even without the flash on him. He sure has some beautiful colours.
