hey everyone! been using your forums for tips and whatnot lately, so i decided to join in.
im pretty new to tropical fish (at least as a serious hobby) had a tank in my house most my childhood although ill admit we really knew very little on what we were doing, but luckily we lived 2 blocks down the street form a great fish store. a while back we got a 10 gallon tank from a friend and after a bit of convincing and as my end of the bargain was since that went well we took tax time to upgrade to a 29 gal. still learning, and have much more to do. but your forums have taught me more than i ever knew from growing up and and really loving the new hobby and even surprised at how seriously i started taking it right off the bat. weve had mostly good luck, but as to be somewhat expected with being new there may be a bit of a learning curve and ive had a few problems. unfortunately i live in a very rural area and have no real good stores to go to without driving 3 hours (no really.... im in the middle of nowhere) so i have to settle for walmart (dont hate me, even that is a 45 minute drive away) i quickly realized i know much more than everyone of their employees combined, not that that is saying much. anyway, ill stop rambling and say thanks for having such a great collection of enthusiasts here, and im glad to be here with you.

:hi: to the forum, Pete, and glad we've already been of help to you, that's good to hear :)

to TFF! Hope you enjoy it here & glad you seem to have gotten off on the right foot.

No one's going to hate you, I'd just take extra care in picking out the fish at wal-mart, and maybe set up a quarantine tank.

Hope to see some pics of your set up.

welcome to the forum have you considereed online ordering although its not highly recomendd its definetely better than walmart and has many more types of fish availible

I would highly recommend buying online.

As long as you choose a trusted retailer, there's usually no problem. I've bought fish and shrimps online as, like you, I live in the middle of nowhere and don't drive, and can't always get what I want from the shops I can get to on the bus!

old tank (spongebob), new tank, as well as the little fry we have (lyre tail just popped some out last week
