Hi, I used to have a roma 200 which is slightly smaller than the 240 and thought it was a pretty good tank. Never had no problems with it or the filter and heater that came with it.
If it hadnt been my first tankand I had more knowledge in fish keeping I more than likely would have just had an external on it rather than starting with an internal and adding an external at a later date. The internal that comes with the tank is o.k I think but an external would be much better. I had a 305 and never had no problems with it or water quality.
I now have a juwel rio 400 and once again seems a great tank, had a couple of problems at first but seem to have got them sorted. The filter is more unsightly on the juwel as its a bigger tank but now my plants have grown thats pretty much covered. Personally I would have removed the juwel internal if I had enough room and run 2 externals but as my tank is screwed to the wall only had enough room for 1 but if you git the juwel maybe thats something you could think of doing.
I cleaned both my tanks with the lights on with plenty of room for manoeuvre so thats not a problem. Hope this helps.
