Im not jealous thats only a 250G tank :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr:

Nice. What you gonna stock?

Oh im going to stock it with small fish but i think i am going to do what foz has done with a cement background. that is one of the reasons he is coming out.

I used to be in another fourm but people on that fourm were not so interesting. I was then on a discussion chat site and i met fossy.

He directed me to this site. I wasnt goin to join but another member who i know let me log in on his computer at his home. I have been reading posts on this site for about a month without registering.

But when fossy convinced me to come accross because people were much nicer i also brough another friend accross. so we have been enjoying this site for around a month.

oops i have moved off of the conversation. So I have purchased the tank via paypals but i dont have a truck license so fossy said he would come accross from holland as long as i could find a place for him to stay so he is staying in my spare room and fossy and two other tff members are coming accross on friday night so we can start early saturday.

We will pick up the aquarium and move it to the house then we will go to B&Q and pick up all the tings needed for the background and filter system.

Oh andygw im going to go for the Sump bio system. as i remembered that fossy said i can connect my other two tanks to the filter system as well. so this is what we will be doing.

Saturday and sunday we will be building the background, filter and water flow system.

im going to keep plants and small type fish however I dont know what fish as yet.

Fossy is organising several things from the sponcers of this site.

Good to hear you are going for a sump, I still say an internal filter on that size tank would take up too much room unless you only lightly stocked, in which case there is a case for not having such a large tank.

Shame such a large tank will only have small fish in it though, that size tank is crying out for a couple of shoals of foot long fish.

My recommendation is to put a wet dry on it with the filter floss outside of the water (so water flows out of the sump drain pipe on to it) it will keep the water much cleaner and provide amazing filtration.

What sort of return pump are you aiming for? I make that needing a fair size pump (such as a Sequence external) in the range of 5,000 LPH. If you are linking other tanks then you should really look into something big and powerful (and cheap to run) like the Sequence 10,000 which offers 9,580+ LPH for only 95W.

If you can adapt a Tunze pump to be a return then you really are laughing, as once you have a pump running a couple of oyears, these things start saving huge amounts on Wattage.

Yea i found out that it came with a bio filter which is built into the whole frame and tank. Im not to sure how the bio sump look like at the moment. but i will do that.

Thanks

Well the whole thing was installed in 4hrs..
I made a mitake with the size of the tank. It is 270 W x 80 D x 90 H as the person who meassured it only meassured the viewing window and the hole in the lighting hood. Luck i had the extra space.

but i would not have been able to do it with out fossy. he had all this high tech lifting and transport equipment. He wouldnt tell me where he got it from.

But it did look a bit expencive.

He fitted the Osmosis system, lighting hood, and extra filteration system. This cost me an extra 600 pounds. However the whole system looks like it will work realy good.

I now have to wait for the back ground to dry before adding water. also I need to cycle the tank for a month before adding fish. I also have to wait until everything settles down before i start using the RO.

Unfortunatly for the sponcers of this site fossy purchased the lighting and RO system from another set of companies because how he has been treated by the top people of the site, he was in the process of buying every thing from the sponcors when it all happend

sweet tank i would go a few schools of like 100 fish each :good:

well the ph levels are starting to drop but still to high .

Sorry i can t post any pictures yet as i dotn have a digital camera. I could draw a picture though
