Here is my new betta boy.. Just got him home a few hours ago..He is very active and is eating well. I knew I couldnt come out the shop and leave him.. Heres hoping the boyfriend likes him..  (tank number 6) .. Here is a few pics I managed to get of him..His colouring is a different in the pics.. The greeny colour is actually a blue colour.. :D

Thanks Mel.. :D x
Weeqt got him at Chatellarault, that place I was telling you about before.. They had lots of nice ones in today was hard picking one.. :S x

Just in from work tonight and my new boy has lost half of his tail.. :( His tail was fine last night and first thing this morning.. I dont have a clue what happened to it. There is no jaggy or sharp bits on the ornament thats in with him..So im guessing he has bitten it of himself.. Is there anything I can do??
Thanks x

ive noticed this today aswell, my male has parts of his tail missing as of today, and hes on his own with nothing but a floating plant.

Cleaned out his tank today and added melafix.. Hopefully this will help his tail..He seems fine though, still swimming around and eating well.. :good:

If they are tail biters you will never get them to stop but you can distract them and thus stop them until you take the distraction away

Heres some things that help:

1. put a mirror next to his tank he will stay busy making sure that the intruder stays out - sometimes this is only a short term thing but it may work for your boy

2. put another male better right next door, if you have more than one male you can have next to him its good to change them as it keeps his interest up - this has been the best way of doining it that i know of

3. change his location on a regular basis - a bit harder and more than likely will just stress him out

4. Change his tank aroung every couple of days, give him different things to explore - again another good method but doesn't work for every betta.

Hope thats of some use to you, but then i hope it isn't in a way, and you male just had a moment (if you get me  )
