hey all
i am thinking about setting up a 75 or 55 gal tank. i would like to know how much it would cost to set it up.(heater, gravel, plants, lights ect. all that stuff). thz in advance

Location would be good lol.

for my 10G it cost me about $75 for heater, light, filter, gravel and some decorations, and a testing kit(which is a must for any tank)
so im guessing around $150 for it all because the bigger the tank the bigger stuff you need for it

go to some fish supplies site and see what you need an the prices
and then add em up and you will get a very close estimate of how much you will need to spend

Is that in the United States?
yes

In canada, it costed me about 60 dollars for a ten gallon, it came with quite a few decorations and a so-so filter.
And i've been looking at larger ones, for the future, there's a wonderful 70gallon tank that i'm looking at for ONLY 145$
but then there's the cost of the lid, lights, heater, filter, gravel/sand, decorations, fish and what ever else there is for you to want.
So i would say in canadian it would cost you a good 300$, in the states..probably around 275$

It really all depends if you want a new tank or a used tank. Big fish or small fish (big fish=more fish poop=bigger filter). It depends on how nice of a stand or hood you want, it depends on a lot of stuff. If you are looking for a used tank than I would reccommend craigslist or ebay and you can sometimes get cheap things on aquabid. Good luck

Tank cost itself will vary all over the place depending on what type it is, metal, fake, or real wood stand, etc.

I just did a 75 gal, cost for the equipment was around

$100 for Fluval 405 (?...I oversized) off ebay
$30 for airpump sized to a 75gal (which I actually don't use since it's noisy and too big..i put one I had for a 10 gal on instead)
$40 for the heater
$20 in assorted items (airstone, tubing)
$50 for "special" sandy substrate.
$50-75 for plants ~40% coverage.
Other decor will add cost but varies alot depending on what you want.
