The emperor tetras are getting on fabulously. Looks like I have three males and two females, which is a bit worrying, but I'll make sure that when I finish off the school, that the ratio is reversed.
As for the ladies, I realized I bought five instead of four! However, I'm worried about one. She swims really strangely. All of these fish ate tonight, which I wasn't expecting. I mixed up some micro worms (these girls are much smaller than I realized) and some brine shrimp, and everybody ate. One female is very young, and just a little longer than the tip of my thumb, but I'm sure she'll settle in too.
The display tank also got micro worms and brine shrimp, but more than I gave the QT tank. I also started the catfish on their new catfish "tablets" by Aqueon. If I find something I like better, I'll get it. I just wanted to make sure they are getting all their major food groups. I'm getting more vegetables for them tomorrow too. I think we'll have some broccoli and zucchini ready.
I also want to find a place which sells frozen daphnia. I can't find it in my LFS. I've noticed that as I've started incorporating more foods, as opposed to just the flake, the gudgeons have really shown a difference in color. They now alternate between flake, brine shrimp, and blood worms, with a little bit of micro worms swished in with each of the other foods, too. They like the micro worms, but they are less interested now. I'm wondering what other live foods to culture for them.
