Here is my recently established new 15 gallon tank! I know it's a bit overstocked, but it seems to be well balanced at the moment. And the aquascape is a not very well sculpted at the moment - but I do have plenty of hiding spots and soft sand for the Kribs to disturb...

Please let me know your thoughts, suggestions or advice - positive or negative.

Thanks.

Tank specs:

Size: 15g
Dimensions: 24"x24"x15"
Temp: 24 degrees
Water: soft
Ph: 6.5
Cycled?: Fishlessly cycled tank
Inhabitants:

2 x adults Kribensis (1 3"male, 1 2.5" female)
8 x juvenile Tiger Barbs (1")
2 x Otocinclus (1.5")

great looking kribs, great colour.

the kribs and the tiger barbs will need to be moved into a bigger tank. the kribs need a 20 gallon tank and tiger barbs need a 25 gallon tank.

hopes this helps.

Update - I now have Kribensis fry!

I'll upload a photo later today, but there's about 30 of them contained in one of the compartments (on the far left) of this in the photo below.

The male is guarding them at the moment, and is chasing away any fish that get near - including the female Kribensis!

So can I have some advice on how to look after them? I don't have another tank setup to move them into. What should I feed them?

I'd leave them be, removing all but the male Krib and his fry instead. If you disturb the male, he will abandon the fry

I'd feed Interpet Liquifry 3 strait away (Krib fry are relatiely large once eating) after they become free swimming :good:

HTH
Rabbut

Nice looking tank BTW. How are you keeping the substrate seporate?

Hi, thanks for the input.

My local fish store won't be open for another 48 hours - is there anything I can feed the fry in the mean time? I have flakes, frozen bloodworm, freeze-dried daphnia and green foods at the moment.

Also, this is the only tank that I have. I'd have to take all the other fish back to the fish store. Is there anything else I could do? E.g, setting up 'quarantine' zones?

With the substrate, I put the pebbles in first, leaving a space for the sand. I then cut a small hole in a bag, filled the bag with sand, and put it in the empty space squeezing out carefully the rest of the sand. This way, it wasn't spread around the tank.
