Ooh, looks great

I'd love to have a cichlid tank when I've got my own place, have the money and have the room. Gee, that's going to be a while!

Ah well, I can look at other people's for now

Thanks, It's took well over a year to get the dream a reality. I bought bits for it on a monthly basis so I had the bulk of what I needed. All fish were ordered from quality uk breeders/sellers and came through the post.

Gee, you must have spent a fair bit on postage then!

About £420 on fish, £75 of which was postage but it was worth it to get the quality And type of fish I wanted. In the end it worked out cheaper because the mbuna I have seen in shops are around £9 each and not of the variety or class of the ones you get from the top online sellers that specialise in African cichlids. They charge around £4/£5 a fish for quality F1s

Yeah, I guess it is worth it when you know what you want and the stock that you want isn't as common :)

I've just got my community tank so £15 a time seems a lot for buying fish online when they're only worth a couple of quid

The problem i found when planning my tank is that finding mbuna isn't easy. When you go in many stores they aren't labeled under their scientific names and they are sometimes hybrids, poor quality that aren't easily identifiable . It really isn't easy going to the lfs and getting a good variety and quality of African cichlids. I'm so pleased I bought online from specialist african cichlid sellers

M mmm that's a beautiful aquarium! I am green with envy
