I can see this is gunna be one mega tank B)

You are right, i never throught it was going to be hard, however design is so important with a tank this size, I'm still playing around with some ideas - and have not yet finalized the design

i'll keep the forum posted with my progress over the next couple of months

its looking good already..wish i had more of a plan when i put my tank together..what are the wires on the bottom?

I think the wires are going to be undergravel heating....great for water circulation and plant growth. Though I think that it prevents you from using some of the smaller gravel and sand substrates.

The wire is a heater 100w rena cord

I'm hoping to plant a wide range of plants, I have chosen two types of gravel 3 to 1 in favour of a fine gravel, I understand one way to arrange the base is

1-inch of medium gravel
1/4 inch of Fertilizer
1 to 1/2 inch fine gravel
1/2inch medium to large gravel

what do you think?

I’ve now put the background in, it was a hard decision - I opted for the jewel background - the one that is black and is glued inside the tank. I really did’nt think I was going to use that poor looking background - however I tried it and I now I think it looks great the black background really makes the tank fade away – if you know what I meanJ

I was looking at getting a UV filter anyone got one – I have read a lot all the pro and cons, however I will get one.

I’ll see how the plants take before I get a CO2 bottle
