Has anyone ever seen a short stocky bosmani rainbow male. Not long like the usual bosmani.

Nope but I have a short, stocky Cory that looks like that. Just genetics or a fluke. I’ve never had another one come out like that. I just call him “Stubby”. He’s happy and healthy.

It's the Asian fish farmers making balloon rainbowfish. They have been around for a few years and are awful things.

Do not breed the fish.
 
It's a balloon or balloon cross rainbowfish. The first ones they did were Glossolepis incisus and that was 5 or 6 yrs ago. They have been doing M. boesemani for a similar time.
