Since Neptune passed on I had room to take in a new rescue and I wasted no time. Petco was overflowing with betta and I found this handsome guy. This time I didn't look for a sick looking one to rescue so much as whatever one I wanted. It was more of a feel better kind of buy. The name Nereus is another greek god, he is know as the old man of the sea and is the father of amphitrite (the god not the fish). He is mostly bluish green with a black haed and some red and a tiny bit of purple. Well here he is:

the photos exaggerate his green.

Awesome betta! He reminds me of my betta Sapphire. I also found him at Petco last weekend!

Hey my tail biter looks exactly like that only he has tore his fins up and the fins that haven't been torn have what looks like spikes from a crowntail. :)
