neons and other color fish

In my opinion a single betta is a great fish to put in a five gallon tank. Half of a five gallon space isn't enough for a betta in my opinion; two bettas in five gallons of water would be overstocking anyway.

I know when you start the hobby you think "OMG fishies!111" but you realize that less is more when you have a low-maitenance, attractive tank with healthy, active fish.
actually no 2 bettas wouldnt over stock a 5 gallon at all. You can divide that tank into three parts as well.

And neontetra05, you shouldnt be rude! These people are trying to givive you suggestions, even if you dont agree with what they say you should not say anything wrong about it, or not acknowledge(sp?) it at all. Noone will like you if you have an atitude, though some people, including myself, do have one.

But for a 5 gallon,
I have herd that a pair of breevis could go in there. Or even a few multies. Not sure how everyone feals about that though.

You could get female platties, endlers and guppies. People just say to get males because of the fry. They usually get eaten, so it is fine. And in a tank that size all males will fight.

A nice set up for that would, planted with live plants, 4 platties, all diffrent colors, and a few shripm to help clean up the bottem.

For a 5 gallon, might I suggest in addition to a Betta, an African Dwarf Frog?

A little more challenging to feed but they're good fun little things, and really different.

Just make sure there's no gaps in the tank, escaping is their forte!

:D Hey, hmmmm, i dunno. Looks like a betta or a frog is bout it. I cant think of much else. I like the sound of a planted tank with shrimps and some snails. Planted tanks always look beautiful, try a few books. :p
