Neon Tetras

ok, i know that jumbo and cardinal tetras can get up to 2 inches long, but what about normal Neon Tetras?

I've got five neons in my tank and most of them are around 1 inch. However there is one huge one that is approaching 2 inches!!
I think he is secretly jumping out of the tank when no-ones looking and raiding my fridge for more food

in general it seems that cardinal tetras get bigger and broader bodied than neons (females do at least)...i saw one pushing 1.5" the other day ina planted display tank

i always thought it was a silly UK/US name made up for Cardinals

i reckon the average is 1 inch, but some are lucky to get to 1.5 inches, and ive never seen a neon 2 inches

it looks like any adult neon should look like to me.

I think "jumbo neon" are those sold at LFS which are bigger than the other ones they have in stock... they aren't a different type of neon, just more fully grown than a lot of the "babies" sold in the LFS.
Certainly the ones I've seen for sale are not cardinals - though I guess with all common names theirs room for confusion!!
