Neon Tetras

I used to have 5 in my tank but have since lost 3. Want to add some more into my tank. have a 30l biorb. currently 1 guppy, 2 purple emperors and 2 neons. how many more neons should i add?

I think the general rule with neons (as with most schooling fish) is they like a group of at least 6. Obviously more is better if your tank can take it, but 6 or 7 is the minimum recommended.

Unfortunately, I started with 6, but lost one Haven't replaced with one, as my LFS won't sell them singly, only 5 at a time, and I don't really have the capacity (so I've been told) to add another 5.

They have the glowlights for company though, and I find they all school together in a single group anyway.
