Neon Tetras

I recently bought a school of 6 neon tetras and they are awesome. They are hardy, very colorful, and fun to watch. Do you share the love? What's your favorite type of tetra?

Mine would have to be the cardinal tetra

I have a personal attachment to glow light tetra.
Cardinals come next.
and then finally neon... Black neon that is
Then those golden ones attract me....
then...FINALLY, normal neon tetra... perhaps after rathburns and green....
I have more of a taste for the rare/odd than norm.

I like my red eye tetras and black neons . Regular neons look ok, but all the ones i've had are not very hardy they see to die after a month or two for no reason. So i got the black neons instead, who are much more hardy and boisterous. My neon tetras always seemedto like being eaten by my syno too...and that was when he was under 3 inches. Ive never had that problem with my black neons .

In conclusion i think they are very pretty and fun to watch, but pretty weak at times .

They were always top of my stocking list when I was setting up my aquarium and I've had them pretty much from the beginning. They are hardy and very pretty but to be honest I kind of regret being so quick to buy 6 of them now. They are my least favourite fish in my tank, all the others seem to have their own little personalities but the tetras just swim together and eat. In hindsight I wished I had got Colombian tetras instead, I think they are really beautiful.

Hi,

Although I have neon and Serpae Tetra I have just seen some Green Neons in my LFS. Never seem them in the flesh so to speak. They look stunning. My new tank will have a few of these.
