Neon Tetras - What Do I Need To Know? Food, Behavoriur, Tank Mates...

So I have a 20 gallon tank.

I have:
3 Red Wag Platies
1 Black Molly
3 Female Bettas
2 Mystery Snails

and yesterday i bought some Neon Tetras. I wanted a little 'spark' to my tank.

I will never get Mollies again. Once this one passes away, I wont get any more. They can be a real hassle when adding new fish as they are aggresive and nippy.

Anyways, I would like to know more about Neon Tetras. Any information helps!

Neons are omnivores, they will eat brine shrimp, a good quality flake food, small granules, small live or frozen food, or tubifex. They are also peacefull and generally shy fish

Neons are compatible with peaceful species of fish that are not a lot bigger than themselves. They do well with Corydoras, other species of the smaller Tetras and Rasboras. Don't put them with big predatory fish like oscars or acaras. They can go with angelfish, but it's not advisable (angelfish eat neons in the wild). I Kept angels with neons and they did ok, minus the loss of one or two neons
How many neons did you buy, 6 is the minimum, with more being advisable as they are schoaling fish

of course! Whatever is best for them. I heard odd number (3,5,7...) are best

As long as their is a sufficient number of fish, it's just personal preference if you want to keep them in odd numbers
