I have not personally tried doing this, but have some interest in trying at a later stage. I seem to be watching a lot of vids ect not at all related to what I am trying to do. Somehow I was looking for info on diatom filters and ended up there watching his vids...

I just ordered some brine shrimp eggs online, and was going to give it a go with my own live feed. I have to figure out a "jerry rigged" system for hatching them, but I don;t see why a 1L pop bottle won't work providing I am able to put an aeration line in there. Guess this will be another experiment!

I just used a 2 litre plastic drink bottle. Cut the top off the bottle and throw it away. Half fill the bottle with salt water, sprinkle a thin layer of eggs on the surface and add an airstone. Leave for 24-48 hours (depending on temperature) then remove airstone, wait a couple of minutes and suck out the orange nauplii.
