Had a bit of an ammonia spike about two weeks ago so did regular changes along with using an ammonia remover. May be unrelated but there’s now something seriously wrong with my neons. I’ve already lost two neons yesterday and lost my three corys on the weekend.
The neons seem to be going blind. Does anyone know what is causing this and what I can use to help if it’s not too late? It’s just come out of nowhere!

The last one looks like it's done for honestly. The others don't look too great either. That's quite terrifying, though.
I know! It’s just come out of nowhere and I just don’t know what to do! It’s happened so quickly!

Looks like Neon Tetra Disease (Pleistophora hyphessobryconis).
If it is the case be careful as NTD is highly communicable and can easily spread through a tank quickly.
In doubt, remove all fishes affected and put them in hospital tank.
Did you observe any :
- restlessness
- coloration loss, often in one part of the body
- body may become lumpy
- has difficulty swimming
- spine may becoming curved
- secondary infections such as finrot and/or bloating

Oh no I’m sorry for your loss!!!! It’s always terrible when you lose a bunch at a time especially when your unsure of what could have gone wrong... 😔 It looks like their protective coating is peeling off possibly? To my knowledge if you accidentally added the water too warm this can cause this almost instantly as it strips their protective enzyme layer and leaves them vulnerable to infections and diseases.... which they otehrwise would have been able to fend off. How do you add your water? Tap water? From an outdoor hose? Buckets from the bathroom?
