I have a new 15gal tank, can i cycle it using neon tetras?

fishless cycling is much more friendly eitherwise the poor fish have to live with ammonia!

I did fishless cycling - I'll never put a fish through the stress of cycling ever again.

Do you want the article I used to do it?

ALso I hear neon tetras are very delicate even in a cycled tank - not for beginners. I wouldn't recommend them.

A simple method of fishless cycling is to get 50% water for your tank from someone with a mature tank or get some filter material from a mature tank. I personally used Easy Balance, Stress Zhyme etc to get the bacteria going with some water from a mature tank.

It worked awesome. I'm fishless cycling for the third time right now.

I'm sure there's one posted on this forum also. It just happened to be a goldfish quarantine tank I was cycling.
