Hi, this is my first time posting so hopefully I get it right.

I don't have any testing strips at the moment, but I got my water tested at pets at home recently and they said it was all fine.

About 4 weeks ago I noticed one of my neon tetra's had a large white growth on its mouth, and that its lower body fins where shorter than normal, looking like they'd rotted a bit. I had some melafix so took out the carbon from the filter and started the treatment. Nothing changed, so I continued treatment for a further 2 weeks, doing a 25% water change every week. I used Melafix for 3 weeks before going to pets at home to get some specific antifungal treatment after speaking to them about the symptoms. I have now use Interpret Antifungal and finrot for just under one week, so they've had one treatment of it. But there still seems to be no change in the growth. Since I started the Melafix two other tetra's now have small white growths either on their mouths or back. I've tried to get some photos as best I could. There is no discolouration of the tetras, and the guppys are all fine too. The tank has been set up for about 6 months now with no problems and regular water changes and cleans.

There are 5 tetras in the tank, 3 of which have the white growths but there are no other symptoms, no lethargy or inability to eat, they are all still just as eager to eat, and swim around the tank happily in their small shoal. I also have 3 male guppys and then an assortment of snails and shrimp. It's a 40l tank, the Panorama tank with the filter it came with.

Can anyone suggest what I should do next? Do I keep up with the Interpret treatment for another few weeks? Do I just leave them be? I do want to get some female guppys for my tank, when will I be able to get them? I've had swim bladder in a previous tank but this one is completely new on me, so any advice and help is greatly appreciated.

Everyone with neons seem to experience this but no one knows the cause. I read it could be a virus. Most of us have tried everything but nothing helps. I have one with a white bump on his nose. It’s been there forever and he’s fine.

That's common disease for Neon.
I think Cardinal Is more Hardy than Neon, if neon tetra gets stress out they will prone to disease. Unlike cardinal tetra, I believe there's no treatment for that, my neon had that but not that big. The fin is turning white on the edges. Looks like fin rot but never gone worst, if theres no odd behavior then it's all good.

Thank you :)

They should live for quite awhile. Euthanize them if they stop being able to eat properly
