Needle Fish

i got my needle nose a few days ago and the first day he ate 6 little fish im had for him. i think he ate all thoughts cause the pet store did not feed him. and i feed him like 2 a day. and it is not the expensive either i just started a breeding tank and i am going to breed guppyes r swordtails for him to eat. so i don't have to pay 8$ a week for food. but i got him to see him eat fish

My needle fish died this week in a disaster that also claimed another 9 of my fish but thats another story.

When feeding piscavores (fish eaters) i have found it is best to only feeed them twice a week, once a week for the bigger ones such as TSNs and RTCs.Predatory fish will eat the biggest meal they can in one go and then take several days to digest their meal.Any disturbance in this time from extra feedings water changes or moving things in the tank around may cause the fish to regurgitate the food which will seriously pollute the tank and could even damage bacteria colonies in the filter.

I recently bought a needle fish. I bought it from Pet Smart, they told me it eats minnows but I have several guppies that I bought for my sons turtle. I found that it will eat them. Guppies swim anywhere from top to bottom but since I added the needle fish they all swim on bottom.
