the outlet i meant is the one on the filter inside the tank. if this can be turned so the flow of water hits the surface causing ripples then there is no need for an airpump etc as it does the same thing. basically the ripples allow for gas exchange at the waters surface and the air pump causes a flow of bubbles to break the waters surface for the same reason.
now you have the pump it sounds like you need a T piece. with this you can connect both outlets into the T piece then run a single line into thes diffuser and use the flow controler to adjust the flow going into the tank. also an air pump runs at 1 speed so if you have 1 or 2 air lines it will use the same amount of electricity.
