Need To Change My Birds Name

My Cape Parrot Jake has turned out to be a girl and not a boy So i need new name suggestions for her!! I cant come up with anything i really like. She has started to recognise 'Jake' though so it needs to sound fairly similar ideally... Any suggestions?

Kate sounds like Jake...and you could call her Katie, which I think is cute!

Jade? or you could get her adjusted to "Jakie" and slowly move her towards answering to "Jackie"

Why bother if the bird is allready familiar with the name? It doesn't know the difference, and since it doesn't understand that the name is male, I don't think the rules of human naming apply. I have a ballsy, aggressive male amazon parrot named... Pretty Bird. Thanks to "her" former owner. I wanted to change it, not even because of the wrong gender, but because it is such a stupid and cliche'd name, but he recognizes it. I even refer to him as a her, because he's used to being told what a "pretty girl" he is.

If you're heart-set on changing the name though, I like the Jade idea.

I only bought the bird a month ago so, although it recognises the name and realises that it means that im talking to it, it hasn't started saying it or anythign so there should be no problem changing it

We've decided to go for Jasmine as Jade reminds me too much of the dopey blonde girl from Big Brother
