How's he doing today?
Also, WHAT's he doing today?

Is it hard for him to get up to the top?
And does he ever rest/lean against the side of the tank, or is he just laying on the bottom with his fins folded in?

He's doing MUCH better. Moving around alot more now, and his fins look a bit unclamped!
Should I do a water change, and retreat with Bettafix, or what?

I'd do a full water change, but don't add anything other than fresh water, dechlor, and aquarium salt. Sounds like he was just shocky from the transport.

I just got him to eat some freeze-dried bloodworms, he won't touch anything else.
Seems like he has a hard time moving and his tail & dorsal fin are still clamped...
What would cause him to have a hard time moving?
I'm so glad he ate!

Im glad things are turning out well for you and your betta Kara  keep us updated if anything takes a turn for the worse though although i think the most important part(getting him settled in and eating) is done  :) .

I think it was Kiarra herself who had a fish who just would NOT unclamp his tail - I think he eventually did because he was finally comfortable enough to "let loose". He'll come around. Just give him some time.
Glad he's doing better! He's just adjusting :)

Yep, that would be me.

He's still a nut. He holds his ventrals tight to his body now, weeks later, but his tail is loose and fancy free whenever he calms down. Unfortunately, he's extremely high-strung, so anytime anyone breathes funny around him, he clamps his tail and hides in his plant. Before I gave him the plant, he'd swim around in circles like there was something big, mean, and hungry chasing him.

The little boy you got is eating, and that's a VERY good sign. Given some peace, quiet, and a gentle caretaker, he'll come around. Just make sure the fins are free of any obvious physical defect.
