Hi all

I need some quick advice.

Ive been offered a geat deal on upto 60kgs of fiji live rock for £5/kilo and is very close to me, so pick up is not a problem. Full of life and some of the rock has great coral on it :)

However this is the problem. The seller needs to get rid of them asap, and i have no place to put them for now as we have not finished the support to hold my tank, so tank is out of use.. :(

So my question is, is there anyway i can hold these rocks till the weekend without causing them serious health issues. Ive got a small 15g tank and many buckets i could hold them in, will they be ok?

Hi Aaron

To keep the LR in good condition you will need to get it into Salted Water (Preferably RO), Heated & with a good flow, Lighting aint a must if you cant offer it

At 5.00 k/g you are getting a realy good deal

Is it possible to get some of the tank water as well

:) :) :)

A large Container (Plastic Food Quality Bin) would do the trick

omg! great idea!! thanks for the quick reply!

yep i could get RO water and could get the salt mixed pretty quick. Hopefully i could get some tank water as well but cant garantee.

If i use the bin trick ive got the spare equipment to run it :)

great :)

Getting original tank water aint a must - as long as you heat & give the rock enought FLOW that is the important things

Good Luck

hehehe, cant wait :)

also he said i could have his live sand :D

I should have the support for the tank sorted on saturday. Then ill add the rock and look after them for a while and buy the rest of the equipment :)
