Hey guys. I have a 45g with a total of 9 various types of Mollies, columbian spotted pleco, and now, fry.
Fiance and I are running to the LFS tonight to pick up some plants.
Any suggestions? We're still kind of new and only have what Petco sells as a "combination plant"

Oh, and I need it to be easy, I'm still catching the hang of the plants

Java fern if meant to be pretty easy if that helps i am a plant novice too lol

Okay, I will write that on my list. I'm considering letting my fiance take me to the less corporate store, exotics & Aquatics. Problem is is they are rumored to have tons of snakes and I'm deathly afraid of snakes (As in can't move, rapid heartbeat, shaking...etc.)

I know how you feel - I wasn't warned by one of my friends that an aquatic store she recommended had spiders in the middle of the fish room - I was terrified :-(

Java fern will be good it you want to put in some rocks or driftwood it can grow on, you could also try hygrophilia or vallis which should grow quite well.

any of the Cryptocoryne species will be a good beginners plant. don't need high light levels or co2 etc.
Valisnaria (valis) species are also good but do best when placed in the filter flow.
and then there are the age old 'amazon swords', that can take over a tank, although all mine seem to die very early on
