Need Help With My Planted Tank

i have a planted tank , i want to make the bottom of the tank all grass or sometime of shrub, i dont know what top get though, and also what kind of grass or shrub spreads after planted, do i need different types of rocks on the bottom?

29g i have reg lil rocks in it, what should i get to replace that, im want to do the tank over, change the substrate and add micro grass or something similar because i want to make a eco system basically, alot of brush and alot of small fish

I use gravel as a substrate and have planted dwarf hair grass, this is fairly easy to grow with most lighting and spreads like a carpet when it gets going
