Hello everyone. I am having a lot of trouble figuring out what may be wrong with my betta and any ideas would be really helpful. She is bulging out from both of her sides and a little bit underneath so I thought it might be dropsy but I'm not sure. Her scales seem raised but they aren't out like a pinecone yet. She has some red streaks by her gills and she has lost a layer of scales/skin on her face. She was subjected to ammonia poisoning for a few months because I listened to the pet store people and kept her in an unfiltered one gallon tank. But once I learned the truth, I switched her into a cycled, filtered and heated 5 gallon tank where she currently lives. She is still hungry and usually active although I will find her hiding on the bottom of her tank every once in a while. She has clamped fins and every few days she swims around in a robotic sort of way. The poops seem normal, reddish and stringy. She mainly just eats pellets but occasionally has seachem nutridiet fly larvae. She also lost her beautiful coloring and is a dull pink. I know its impossible to diagnose without seeing the fish but any help will be much appreciated.
