Need Help To Stop Fighting!

I had 2 male 6 female guppies in a20g tank the males were trying to mate with one female in particular constantly. She just so happens to be the biggest one. Well after a week or so I noticed the two males had stopped doing there dance and chasing her. They wer kinda just hanging out in the corner near the top...... Couple days later one has a hole in his back fin, next day it's gone, next day he's dead. And that same morning I found him dead I found the other male dead with his fins nipped..........now today the smallest female is in the same corner....the big one seems to want the tank to herself?........ Please help. I thought it was the two males fighting at first but now I'm pretty sure its the female........help...

Have you seen any signs of fin nipping. Or fish squabbling.

Do you have any other fish types in the tank.

Water stats would also help in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

The big fish is she expecting babies?

Oh sorry, ph is 7.5 ammonia 0 nitrites 0 nitrates 5-10
The only other fish are a couple salt and pepper Cory's and 3 cherry shrimp which all seem to be doing well. So yes one of the females was or is pregnant. First day in the tank( 2 weeks ago) one of them gave birth. So obviously she was allready pregnant. Never did figure which one but my wife thinks it was the big one she said she was even bigger the first day...... Some of the fry have survived. Now that you mention it I wonder if that's it? Maybe she is defending her fry? Kinda weird because she try's to nip at them when they come near. ......

Water quality good. So we can rule bad water quality out.

I've never had much luck with guppys. I gave up on them.
They never lasted long. Apart from a few I had more than a year.
They just seem to get sick, and have lots of problems with there fins. (Even in good water quality)

If you want to keep guppys. I would find a good breeder of them.
As I find lfs bought ones just seems to die.

Females guppys can get abit frantic before they give birth. Chases other fish.

I would rule out defending her fry tbh. Guppies are livebearers, and will see their fry as a tasty snack before they tried to defend them!
