Need Help Plz

im hoping someone can help me with this the prob is i got these snail things starting to apear from
nowhere thay started of being small now i got some as big as slugs and not just one or two theres about 20
of them and when i went to clean my filter the other day it was full of them what the hell are thay where did thay
come from as i've not got any new fish in ages and last of all how do i get rid of them can i buy someing to kill them
or something plz help as thay are takeing over my lovely tank ..

snails are normally transported on plants, chances are they could of laid eggs in your filter, if you search snail on the forum there is a guide somewhere on how to get rid of them, be warned snail meds generally arent good with fish, the best way im afraid is to manually remove them, make sure you wash your plants thorough before you put them in the tank
