Need Help Identifying Something Stuck To My Plants, Possibly Eggs?

Hi, I'm new to the forums but I've been keeping fish for a while.
 
I've recently set up a Aquanano 40 (50L) tank with some plants, a few tetras and some cherry shrimp.
 
I was looking very closely at my plants for signs that they have started to spread and I noticed something attached to some of the leaves of my HC cuba.
 
It's very hard to take a picture of but I'll describe it as best I can; it looks like a small air bubble (definitely not air though) which is attached to the leaves by a small hair like thread. Inside the bubble I can just make out a small speck (black dot). I suspect these to be eggs of some sort but I am unsure as to what they could be as I only have tetras and some shrimp, both to my knowledge do not lay eggs like the ones I described. 

If they are eggs, there is only a few of them. I've counted about 6 of them in my tank, all spread out and attached to leaves as described above.
 
I'll try and take some pictures but it is very hard as they are so small!

Could be fish eggs or could be snails eggs. Difficult to say for certain without a clear picture. See what you can do!

recently setup, with only a few tetras = very unlikely to be eggs
 
most likely snails, and very soon you will probably have thousands of them!

Ok, so took a few pictures, highlighted the 'eggs' with red circles, look for the thing that looks like an air bubble...

 

If it is snails, is this a good or a bad thing? I haven't encountered them before. Will they eat my plants?!

looks like snails,
 
they wont harm anything, they will just multiply by the hundreds,
 
like i said, in a few weeks your whole tank will be covered with them,
 
snails like that often come with live plants when you buy them, thats why i always recommend quarantine for new live plants for a few weeks before putting them into your tank

So turns out, they were fish eggs after all. The plants I bought were in a tank with some Rice fish. Unfortunately the Assassin snails I bought have eaten them all

I've had a similar experience.  I moved some plants from my home tank to a tank I was setting up at work.  At least one of the plants had a panda cory egg stuck to it, and about 6 weeks later I found a panda cory fry swimming around alone inside a 110 G tank.  Fortunately, with the live plants, there was sufficient microfauna for the cory to survive until I managed to see him.  Then I netted him out, and brought him home to be with his family.  He's doing great.
 
 
No need to worry about the eggs being eaten.  Its a normal part of nature.  There's a reason that fish lay so many eggs, most fish eggs and fry don't make it very long, they are just food for the bigger fish many times.

As a total aside, how are you liking the aqua nano? I have been thinking of getting that tank and maybe doing a little ram and tetra tank for my office desk. Not sur if it will be too big for my office desk but I thought the next size down wasn't a big enough volume for rams....

Have you changed anything out of the kit that you don't like, like lighting or anything?

Its an amazing tank. It looks beautiful and its very handy having all the filtration etc built into the back. I've swapped the stock lighting for a TMC mini 400 led but if you aren't growing plants this isn't essential. I may upgrade the stock power head for a Rhein compact 1000 at some point but no need as of yet. Only thing that let me down were the plastic clips that hold the glass lid. They arent very strong so be careful with them. You won't regret buying it I promise!

Just out of interest, how did you know they were fish eggs if they were eaten before hatching?

I went back to the shop I bought the plants from and was talking to the owner about it when he realised what they were. 
 
Feeling slightly guilty about all the baby fish I inadvertently murdered, I bought a few of the Rice Fish and have given them a new home (snail free). Hopefully I can give them a better home.

Don't feel guilty about the eggs getting gobbled... it happens a lot in nature, and more frequently in our tanks than we probably realize.
