Need Help Choosing Cory To Go With 55g Platy Tank

thanks for the post barracuda.

The pygmaeus seem to have the same characteristics from what ive read.
How deep is your 30g? Im worried about them being able to make it the 21'' to my surface to get air.
I would leam more towards the dwarf/pygmy but i am unsure of deep tanks.

I have been looking but have only found pandas and napoensis as true cories that stay under 2''.
If not too much bother what are some others?

Corydoras dont need to reach the surface to breathe, this is only a survival technique, they are just like any other fish in that their main means of breathing is through the dissolved oxygen in the water, so unless your other fish are suffocating the water should have enough oxygen for the corys, Height should not be an issue, corydoras are collected in areas far deeper than 50cm.

Some that get around 2" or a little above: Corydoras arcuatus, axelrodi, caudimaculatus, guapore, leucomelas, melanistius, panda, polystictus, similis, and trilineatus are some. Most of these are not to hard to find.

The height should not be an issue.

That is true, but Corydoras still need a path to the top to gulp air which helps in digestion of food. They shouldnt do it all the time though.

Didnt you say this was a 55 gallon? I think you get fit another species of cory in that tank without any problems. They would be the only fish that occupies the bottom most of the time.

yeah 55g.
just not sure whats going to happen with my platy population.
Ever single fry i bred turned out to be female...............
like to stock move conservatively for now.
