Need Good Excuses

well, as you can see from the title, i was wandering what excuses people used to get a bigger tank. im 14 and have hte money for a bigger tank and wast a bigger tank as atm i only have a 60L. i want atleast a 90L. atm my fish are in my mums 30L ( she had 2 small parrots on there!! ) and let her put her parrots in my 60L till she gets a bigger tank( 180L ). they bredd in the 30L and there was 6 babies but when i out my fish in there, we noticed the babies then. my mollies have eaten the babies bledy mollies! . i have 2 mollies and 5 corys. i had more fish but i started again with my tank as i wanted different fish. does anyone know some good excuses to get a bigger tank?? also i would just like to say that my mums parrot is pregnant again so expecting more babies!!!

Well all i do is ask my mum or dad, say like 'i have the money i am taking my time with it bit by bit it wont cause you hassle' and when they say 'no' just say..oh ok then and walk off dont say anything back..and they will feel guilty.

and keep re-doing it but saying different things like 'please mum it wont cause you hassel'..'no'..oh ok then mum and walk away.

sooner or later they will give in

because my mum is getting a bigger tank she is getting a unit to put the tank on and i was thinking that maybe i could say to her '' mum, if you let me have a bigger tank, i will give you some money towards the new unit''. do you rekon that could work??

Hi guys. I think its great you are keeping fish.

I am a mum, you could try..... "Mum, having a bigger tank is a big responsibility, I would like to think I am ready for such a responsibility, but understand if you dont think so"
If she says you are not, go and wash up, or do the vacuuming, it might make her waver in your favour.

Azzaknight, Do you have a birthday coming up ?? just a thought.

Also, if you were to get a bigger tank do you know where you would keep it. I know if it was me and my son asked for a tank, I would consider it providing all the parameters were in place. As Star4 said, being responsible (and demonstrating it) is important. Think WHY you want a bigger tank (I know this seems obvious, as I think every fish keeper always wants a bigger tank) lol.

Explain to your Mum just how much you have learned since keeping fish (it is very educational!). That you are committed to the hobby, and if you REALLY want it, would you be willing to save up for it?

Good luck. You will get a a larger tank eventually I'm sure.

all i did was tell my missus we could have better fish and more of them . and hey presto we ordered a bigger tank.

Say to your mum the larger the tank the better it is for the fish, all you want to do is make sure that your fish are kept healthy and in the best conditions you can afford to put them in.

That'll be a sign of taking responsibility and maturity and getting your larger tank.

If you have got fish breeding you need a 60ish litre tank as a fry tank to stop them getting eaten. you can then grow them on and sell them on for profit.

You have a 60 litre so you need a bigger tank for the rest of your fish.

Then when the fry get bigger you will then need another tank

Tell her you want to specialize in a certain 'bigger' fish and then stock wht ya want once you get ur bigger tank and always say please and thank you and also make sure that if/when they say yes get them a lil box of choc's or something.

i do want to get german blue rams or bolivian rams so they need a 20G atleast. i could use that as my excuse i will try tonight and if not i will try other stuff so can you keep posting more PLEASE!!!!

because my mum will go mental and sell it and then i would be anoyed so i would rather just ask then see what she says
