Need A Centerpiece

k so, i have a 50gal tank, currently stocked with 2 bolivian rams and 2 danios (pretty empty lol)

i've been having trouble finding a good fit. here's my criteria:

size: 5-6 inches adult
quantity:2-3
breeding: not really interested
position: mid-water swimmer
ph: 7.5

i was also thinking of getting a group of rasboras, but i'll scrap that for better main fish

any suggestions?

Common Angelfish (6 inch)or a group of Banded Rainbowfish(5 inch) or Gold Gourami or Opaline Gourami (both 6 inch)

Up the number of danios to start with to 6-8.

Then how about, Angels or Festivums or Curviceps or Keyholes.

Angels would probably be the commenest suggestion. What sort of danio's are they (to get an idea of size etc.)

The rams mean nothing too boisterous, so if you're thinking cichlid then perhaps something like a sajica or cutteri could work. Perhaps more peaceful fish like keyholes would be better, though I'd class these as mid-bottom dwellers.

If you remove the danios, you may be able to fit some Denisoni Barb in there

my brains not working sharply enough to imagine the size of yoru tank but would it be too small for a pair of sevs or uarus?

I would have suggested angels as well

How about a pair of Placidochromis phenochilus (tanzania), they look stunning.

Not sure what their compatibility is like but I think they'd look fab

Too small for severum or uarus (50 gallon) in my opinion.

Placidochromis phenochilus is a cichlid from Lake Malawi, so I would say need a dedicated tank and not suited to live with rams.

suspected so I couldn;t thnk what dimensions a 50g was

My uarus are about 8 inches each and big fish

ya angels have caught my eye before. now i just have to google all these other ones lol

and btw, the danios are zebras and there are only 2 because i've had them for a few years, and the others died off...
