i have a window in my room that gets about 4 hours of good direct sunlight, and the rest of the day its in partial shade.

i was wondering if it would be a good idea to put my tanks around the window so i cant catch some of the natural sunlight.

Direct sunlight is never a good idea. For one thing, it's only 4 hour a day. Also, it will heat the water like you wouldn't believe. Sooooooo much algae will grow that your water will look like pea soup. I put an aquarium in a place where it recieved direct sunlight once and it was a nightmare. Just get full spectrum fluorescent lights and you will be much happier.

All the best LFS have their windows either blacked out or plastered in posters etc specifically because direct sunlight is not desired.

I would only say that it's not desirable.

I have my tank in a spot where it gets some direct sunlight, but it is semi-filtered out by a tree. Two months in this spot and I have never once had a problem that the pleco and the algae scraper could handle, and no algae bloom.

If you can get a better spot, I recommend it, but that would be a decent temporary spot or even permanent spot if you can keep up great water parameters. A background on the tank will also help.

one of my LFS's has a massive salt water tank now, that used to have a shark in it. It dosent have any lighting, and recieves a fair bit of direct sunlight...
