They should - but they don't always. Some are more orange-green than pink-red.

nah 2/3" is about right, i've never seen or heard of a barb get to 6"

maybe the odd specimin but it's certinaly not a regularity

That's a cherry barb, not a rosy barb. They are two totally different fish.

No. You have female rosy barbs, which may get a slight pink tinge, but will mostly remain silver. The males are a bright pink/red color.

Thanks for backing me up. Wow that's potentially 10 fish times 6 inches per fish for an impulse buy. I hope the OP has a large tank.
