I only see 1.5 fish and they look to be platys.

On another other note. That is a lot of carbon.

There are actually 4 in there but you cant see them, but you see half of one lmao. thanks for your help i removed the filter because it needs to be changed. i'll have to tell the owner when she comes back about them

Do you think i should remove some of the carbon? teh filter is dirtied and probly have to replace it.

You don't replace the filter media! Just rinse it in a bucket of tank water. Replacing it removes all the good bacteria it contains and means your tank needs to recycle. Which is not good at all. The filter needs to be put back in. The carbon can go though, it is worthless stuff IMO. I would just replace it with more of the white filter floss.
