Name That Fish?

having a look around the only thing i can find thats close is a Banded Rainbow fish but max size is about 6" not 10"...

Crenicichla aka (Pike Cichlids obviously were stabbing in the dark......
what type of shape does it have?like a torpedo/like a elongated fish like the rainbow picture before or

After looking at barbs profiles on this site. is it possible you overestimated the size? Could it be a 'filament barb' PROFILE

The picture on the profile could be what you are describing, but on google images it doens't look that similar but its worth a shot.

A picture would clear things up for sure though.

Shroob you legend! it is the 'filament barb' and yes they are 10" ive had them against the ruler 30 mins ago.
