Name That Fish....! :)

Hi There,

I was visiting my local pet shop,(Pets at Home) for supplies when I thought I would have a browse at the fish, (I would never buy from there I always use my nearest Aquatics store!)

Anyway I came across a fish I had never heard of, so I thought I would come home and Google it etc, Problem is I can't find out anything else.

Could anybody help me out...... "American Ali Cat Fish"
Poor Description...... Catfish-ish? long whiskers? Almost Shark like?!

Sorry to be a pain but it was a good looking fish and I dont really trust Pets at Home's quality - if you know what I mean?!

Just got off the web, This time looking at American Sites too, And found exactly the same as you! White Tip shark Cat also known as Black Fin or Columbian Catfish!Shame it grows to 30 -omething cm.How did you know!! Do you own some or are you just the fountain of all knowledge!Thanks very much...... Just noticed your American thats maybe why I found it on an American site, (stupid me!)Cant find it anywhere here YET!

Not even close. I some how just new, I think the wiskers gave it away.
