Do Mystery Snails Reproduce a lot?? If so what snails do you recommend for minimal babies I don’t want my tank over run

I don't know about mystery snails off the top of my head, but I know the vast majority of nerites won't breed in freshwater. Like amanos, they require brackish water for successful reproduction.

Having never had them, from what I know they do reproduce insanely quickly... for me your best bet would be to either a. get a nerite nail, b. get whatever snail you please (including mystery snails) and an assassin snail or a snail eating fish, depending on the tank setup, or c. get assasin snails. Why are you considering them?

EDIT: Posted while I was typing this. another thing with nerites, although they don't reproduce they will lay eggs everywhere. So if you don't want that, probably don't get a nerite.

Mystery snails lay eggs out of the water so if you are vigilant and remove the eggs clusters as soon as they appear you shouldn't be overrun. The clusters look like a tiny bunch of grapes.

Are mystery snails hermophrodites or are there separate sexes? Will any two mystery snails breed?

I've had mystery snails for over a year now... they do get pretty big, so I find one per tank, to be a nice number... but have had 2 & even 3, in one tank, without any breeding... there are links out there that show pictures & tell you how to sex them...

I did not have good luck with Nerite snails to start with, but have had 2 zebra Nerites for several months... Nerites are good snails for aquariums, because of their complex breeding cycle, & they don't eat live plants, & do eat algae & fish waste...

The bunch is called a clutch of eggs. I've had a few mystery snails but never had any breeding from them. I assume I just never had two diff sexes. I've seen a Twitch stream that had them and they reproduce exponentially!

I had some- just had to check the underside of the tank lid regularly and remove the clutch of eggs. Not a big deal if you look regularly.
