Mystery Snail Logs

one week later, Snails are still hatching. the ones that have been out of the eggs for a while now are ready to strike out in search of food.
they got three new tank mates, i know i said i wouldn't but the three baby cories needed more room to grow and this was perfect.

i am dropping sinking wafers by hikeri and tums that my brother left behind to strengthen their litthe shells.
more pic later in the week

watch the tums, they will make your water murky.
also its been almost two weeks since the initial hatching, if they haven't come out by now they will not, throw out what is remaining of the eggs.

its time to concentrate on the ones who made it out. the first week or so the baby snails will not accept any food. i would throw the cuttle bone in when they first start hatching to give it time to sink. it will float for a little while but by the time they start looking for food.

also my top five reasons to not raise baby fish and baby mystery snails together.
1 in mass baby snails create a lot of waste. more then a baby fish.
2 calcium which is essential to baby snails creates a raise in ph not good for baby fish.
3 tums will make the water smell, snails love it.
4 baby mysteries will climb on anything and everything, baby fish just want to chill out.
5 two different types of creatures have two different needs.

just like baby fish however, you need to keep the tank really clean for the baby snails. which means regular water changes.
