So i went to the annual West Coast Blues and Roots Festival here in Australia, and it was probably one of the best concert ive been to, and probably will be for quite a while.
Some of the bands i saw are only nationally known, so bare with me.

I'll start off with who i saw first:
Day 1
Eric Burdon And The Animals 10/10 - For a 60 something year old, he still has it. It was just amazing to see him, and when he did House Of The Rising Sun, the crowd went absoloutly crazy. Amazing voice, amazing band.

Gomez 8/10 - I thought they were pretty good, were a bit repetitive and i didn't know much of their songs so thats why they get an 8.

Xavier Rudd 10/10 - For those who don't know who this guy is, get his stuff. A one man band = incredible. He plays guitar, plays drums and plays the digereedoo at the same time. Incredible.

The Cat Empire 10/10 aswell - Really fun to watch live and knew how to get the crowd going, awesome trumpeter (?) and was just an awesome performance overall.

John Butler Trio 11/10 - The most effing incredible acoustic guitarist. Amazing drummer and bassist aswell, awesome solos by all of them, seen him twice this year and he was better this time.

Wolfmother 10/10 - Been wanting to see them for a long time and hey lived up to their expectations, even though i had lost alot of respect for them as band, i've officially gained it back. Awesome, powerful performance.

Day 2

The Waifs 7/10 - They were alright i guess, a little bit too country for me and i never knew any of their songs.

Missy Higgens 9/10 - Even though i dont like her stuff, she was pretty awesome on stage, clear vocals and excellent at piano

John Mayer 11/10 - Simply amazing. Everything about him was good, his vocals, guitar solos and his band was excellent.

Ben Harper and The Innocent Criminals 12/10 - Better then god. 'nuff said.

Dave Matthews Band was ment to play but cancelled at the last minute and i never got to see Bo Diddley on acount of Ben Harper which was a massive negetive for me. All in all, it was an incredible weekend
