Hey, ha ha I was hoping you would be able to remind me that :D they are from the same family as he amazon sword, but their name wasn't written on the tank :/

Ok I'll have a look and see if I can do the share thing.

Certainly put that wood to good use, nice and green too. Good work!

I want you to come scape my tank lol! Mines rubbish! Going to order some real aquatic plants soon instead of the rubbish the lfs sell, I hope mine looks half as good as yours when im done! Gotta find some sturdy ones for the piranhas tho ;-)

Hi shelster

Great looking tank. I'm paying it particular interest because I have a vision 180 and am embarking on my own journal and looking around for ideas. You don't mind if I steal a few of yours do you?

I should mention that the BBA is caused by fluctuations in co2. You can stablize the co2 with the diy method but in my limited experience, once it's appears in your tank the only way to get rid of it is to address it's root cause.

A very nice improvement indeed :)

The plants are looking good and a few more vallis as is coming in the post will compliment the tank very nicely!

BBA is a real pita as I have some too but that's getting under control though, dosing more liquid ferts, reduced lighting hours and took the T8 reflectors off, seems to be doing the trick and BBA not growing as badly as before (famous last words. Lol!!)

Do show a pic with the new vallis when you get them planted, bet will make the crank even better if that's possible ;)

I really like the tank! Great aquascaping and the plants all look super healthy!

Is that a CAE I spot?

Would love to see an updated pic!

Awesome tank shelster ! Looks great. Which Internet site are you gettin your plants through ? They do look good quality :)

Hey Primous, of course I don't mind you using ideas, I love this site for being able to see how everyone else aquascapes.
I have removed the light reflectors I had which has made a difference. I also dose daily micro and macros with easycarbo.
I did then a few months later have almost a month away whilst my husband fed the fish without dosing ferts or carbo, and despite my cutting down the photoperiod had another bloom :(

I shall see if I can clear some room on my phone to take an updated pic for you all.

@Blondielovesfish - yes it was, but after three months I caught him and returned him to the store as I hadn't done my research, and went on lfs advice! He cleaned the tank up lovely, but did start to chase my fish from three - four months of owning him.

@plumbersmerchant - I actually buy them from a lfs (non- chain) lovely little fish shop it is :)

My apologies but I'm a little confused here. When you say "daily micro and macro" do you mean you dose both on the same day or do you alternate the macro/micro on alternate days. Also since we have the same tank, I was wondering if you've considered lowering the actual dose to 140/150L even though it's a 180L? I've read  in a few forums that for our lighting that might be the way to go at least to start off with. If the plants are lacking anything in particular they'll show specific signs of deficiency and allow you to adjust. as opposed to having an abundance of ferts that algae can use to bloom, Just a theory really, based solely on what I've read. The less is more approach lol

Hey Primous - sorry for the delay in reply, I haven't had the chance to be on the forum for a while.

It was alternate, but I now no longer have this tank.

I have two other tanks to tend to, but as this was my largest, it was always a struggle to ensure I had collected enough RO as we drink it too. I made the difficult decision to let the tank go :-(

Oh no! Sorry you had to get rid of the tank! Hopefully in the future you will be able to get a similar sized tank again and make it as beautiful as this one :)
