I pick these guys up around October of last year, they have been great species to work with so far and are my favorite group of fish i've had so far in this hobby. F1 Gymnogeophagus gymnogenys and F1 Cichlasoma la palma.

Nice fish! Gymnogeophagus are a stunning group. Pity they're almost impossible to get in Australia!

Fantastic group :) Nice to see!

How do you deal with the cooling period? Always wanted to try this set up if I had the tank.

Well with me being in California its almost the same climate as it is down there, so I just leave the tank unheated and let them ride the weather. But if it gets too cold where you live just set the heater real low, theses guys get in the mid 50s in winter and around 74-77 in summer.

Oh wow thats fantastic!! I love the Cichlasoma there is something quite Laetacara about them :) with the round faces
