My trip to the Maldives

Thanks guys. It was an amazing experience to see all these creatures in the sea. The turtles especially as they were so docile and didn't seem phased by my presence at all. I would dive down to them and swim right next to them while they were eating until I had to go up for air.
Those sharks in the pictures are only babies. not even half a metre long, and in really shallow water. I did see a few on my dives though including a nice big fat 2m Grey Reef shark. The sharks aren't the ones to be scared of though, they swim off as soon as they see you, it's the trigger fish you had to watch out for!!

Which one exactly is the "trigger" fish???? :S

I can NOT believe you actually DID THAT!!!!!!  :hyper: :hyper:    That must have been an experience of a life time.  How beautiful and special would that be.............

:-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

Congrats on being able to do what most of us only dream of!!!

AWESOME pictures too!!!!

Welcome back!! Glad to hear you trip went well and you made it home safe. That turtle is beautiful as well as your other pics.

The trigger fish is the fist picture on the second post I made. They get up to about 75cm, and most of the ones I saw were about 50-70cm. They have big teeth, and are notoriously aggressive when they are nesting and have been know to take large chunks out of divers and snorkellers!!

amazing pictures!! You must have had a blast. I especially like these...

Thanks Wuv. That last picture of the turtle was taken from about 25 metres. I happened to look up and see the silhouette of a tutle and snapped him quick!
Thanks for the congrats too!

Fantastic Photos!!! :hyper:

Were did you go in the Maldives? My fiancee and I did a spot of diving there in October and were staggered by the number of turtles that there were. We saw some hammerheads, but no octopus' :(

Super cool place though - you canget some really cheap deals with Kuoni (sorry if I'm not supposed to say that).

Thank you so much for sharing your photos ! :)
